Eliq has launched a next-generation EV detection algorithm, sharpening the entire energy breakdown in EV households.

What is the change?

Eliq has launched a next-generation EV detection algorithm, powering a major upgrade to our Energy Usage Categorisation. Built on an event-driven architecture, the algorithm continuously scans energy signals to detect the distinct signatures of EV charging in real time. It isolates characteristic start–stop events, evaluates load behaviuor and consistency, and maps these patterns against known EV charging profiles. Applicable to locations with high-resolution data (15/30/60 min).

96% of EV charging energy accurately detected across our dataset, following extensive experimentation and validation. This leap in EV detection doesn’t just improve one category—it sharpens the entire energy breakdown in EV households. The outcome is cleaner data, smarter insights, and a significantly enhanced end-user experience.
